Free Calligraphy Demonstration with Mary Lou Johnson

Art Center Morro Bay is happy to present a free demonstration with calligrapher and teacher, Mary Lou Johnson. Johnson has created lettering for numerous wedding invitations, wine labels, books, and business brands, including the Farmer’s Market and the Morro Bay Harvest Festival. She has taught numerous workshops at Cuesta College, Art Central, SLO Adult Education, and various other locations in and around the central coast. She began hand lettering in the 1980’s, and once she joined the LA Society for Calligraphy in the 90’s, never looked back. Her enthusiasm is infectious, and her knowledge is the best. In this interactive demonstration, you will have an opportunity to hand letter using different brushes and pens that are the tools of the Calligraphy trade.
