After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Speech Communications, Cyndee Edwards spent many years pursuing a career in television news interning at KSBY and KTLA. She produced and created some television programs including a news magazine for the City of El Segundo. Her career took a drastic turn in 2000 when she discovered the world of skincare. As a licensed skincare therapist, Cyndee worked for several renowned skincare companies and currently, runs her own skincare business, The Skin Stop, with ofﬁces in Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. She has served as secretary and president of the Morro Bay Merchants Association, a board of director for Estero Bay Radio, and a chamber board of director for the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Owner, Mike's Barber Shop, Tiny Mike's, and Mike's SLO
Jon grew up in Davis, California, which boasts a college town-feel similar to San Luis Obispo. He has his degree in Graphic Design from College of Southern Nevada and designed billboards and websites owning Celebrity Computer Graphics, Inc. He also owned a Chem-Dry carpet cleaning franchise and tile cleaning business prior to his professional barbering career. Currently he barbers at Mike's and Tiny Mike's Barber Shop in Morro Bay and has been a leader in local social service organizations, serving as a former President of the Morro Bay Lions Club and as a previous member of the Board of the Eco Rotary Club of Morro Bay. He enjoys, ﬁshing, surﬁng, swimming, hiking and cooking.

Sandi came to the Central Coast as an Industrial Engineering student from Cal Poly Pomona in 1990. Upon graduation she launched a career in electronics manufacturing with a Parker Hannifin company in Santa Rosa, CA. In 2000 she returned to the area to work for Intel, formerly Ziatech, in San Luis Obispo as a Senior Process Engineer. When traveling for work conflicted with raising a family she put her career aside to be active in the education of her two children. Sandi partnered with SLO Classical Academy (SLOCA) to provide a classical education through a hybrid homeschool approach. At SLOCA she also worked as Enrichment Class Coordinator and in Administration as well as taught enrichment classes.
Building an interest in youth fitness and adventure fitness along with a love of teaching she obtained certifications in 2014 as an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer, 200 RYT Yoga Teacher, and Stand up Paddle (SUP) Yoga (SUP YOLI). These skills and a love for the water have inspired her to share her hobby of stand-up paddle boarding with the community. Ken, her husband, and Sandi own The Paddleboard Company on the Embarcadero to provide the central coast a place to buy high quality equipment, discover this fast growing sport and connect with others who share passion for stand up paddling. With a love of traveling it makes sense that part of her “five year plan” is to stand-up paddle down the rivers of Europe.

Joshua grew up in the OC, born in Newport Beach, and has always been a "beach bound" individual. He has lived in Morro Bay since 2008 with his beautiful and fun spirited wife of 23 years, Rachelle (no kids, just the 2 of them!). Joshua has a financial career spanning almost 20 years and started working for Wells Fargo Bank in Monterey as a Business Specialist in 2007 before moving to Morro Bay. He became the Branch Manager/Assistant Vice President in December 2008. Joshua receivedhis Associate of Science Degree in Business Management from Ashworth College of Atlanta, GA. Both he and his wife have learned American Sign Language to help the local deaf community and are actively involved in an ASL Bible education program. Together, they enjoy traveling, photography, watching and attending Formula 1, Indy and MotoGP races.
President/Co-founder, Morro Bay in Bloom and the Morro Bay Surfboard Art Festival
I am a retired biochemist who developed fermentation and protein-puriﬁcation processes for industry. My interest in gardens and horticulture developed in my grandparents’ greenhouse. My grandfather raised tuberous begonias and my grandmother grew orchids. I’m co-founder (in 2013) and president of Morro Bay in Bloom and the Morro Bay Surfboard Art Festival. The community-building potential of the America in Bloom volunteer model is considerable and our organization’s participation has raised awareness of the importance to economic development of creating welcoming public spaces in Morro Bay.
Owner, DiStasio’s On the Bay
Ken grew up in Boston MA. He enlisted in US Army 1965-1969 (US Army Security Agency /Courier Svc). The last 15 months of service were in Vietnam 68-69. Ken pursued his education after the military and received a BS in Business from Univ. of Massachusetts and then continued on getting an MBA from Suffolk University in 1973.
His career began as a Management Information consultant with Burroughs/Unisys Computer Co., Detroit, MI, in the International Division of the company. After accumulating millions of miles of world travel, he left that division nine years later as International Director IT- (Detroit/Toronto). Ken then moved onto corporate and became Corporate Director Information Technology (Detroit MI/Philadelphia PA). Ken left the company for a few years, and went to work in the Banking industry. He was asked by his former company to start a new division (IT Outsourcing). Ken left eight years later as Director Global IT Outsourcing.
Along the way Ken got involved in teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Univ Michigan MBA Program, Wayne State University Detroit MI., Bakersﬁeld College and University of Laverne. Eventually Ken left the corporate world and opened restaurants with his wife and son (DiStasio’s Ristorante -Los Osos DiStasio’s on the Bay Embarcadero-Morro Bay DiStasio’s On the Bay Market Ave -Morro Bay).
Head Golf Professional, Morro Bay Golf Course
Michael joined the Morro Bay Golf Course three years ago, but is a longtime resident of the region. He has more than a dozen years of experience in the golf and tourism industry – managing daily operations and supervising a large staff. He is very excited to lend his effective communication and leadership skills to work with the business community towards its common goals. Michael hopes that as a Board Member he can promote the vitality of Morro Bay’s best tourism opportunities and develop recruitment incentives that will help boost economic development.

Lorraine moved to Morro Bay in May of 1977 and has served the Central Coast as a Real Estate Agent Broker since 1978. She is a member of the California Association of Realtors. Lorraine is a Morro Bay business owner and Morro Bay Rotary member. All three of her college graduate children were raised in Morro Bay and graduated MBHS. She has strong ties to the community as a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager. Lorraine would like to help create a better environment for our business community and actively recruit new businesses to join the Chamber.

Jim’s Automotive has been a figure in the Morro Bay business community since 1964 - Richard joined the staff in 2008 before taking over the operation in 2013. He is a passionate and involved community member - volunteering his time with the Boys and Girls Club, SLOMiata (Club Founder), is the current Corporate President and serves as a Board member for his HOA. Richard aims to provide enthusiastic support to fellow Chamber members, to represent the important auto services industry in town, and to push for an active and productive Board.
